STORY OF RAMENCRAFT

The story of RAMENCRAFT began when Milan Tarabík, the number one man of our team, as a boy enrolled in karate and met a Japanese master, who ignited in him a hurricane of enthusiasm for Japan, Japanese culture, samurais, and samurai swords. Over time, Japanese cuisine was added as well.

Since then, much water has flowed in the river, and many ramen soups of varying quality have been eaten worldwide. Milan gathered rich experience in the gastronomic field. Yet, the idea of an authentic Japanese ramen eatery lingered in the back of his mind, something more like a bistro.

When you desire something strongly, it comes. And the offer came for a space where the dream bistro had long been meant to be.

WE LOVE RAMEN AND
IN OUR SOULS, WE ARE
STILL BOYS WHO
GREW UP ON SAMURAIS
AND NINTENDO.

We love ramen! But in our souls, we are still boys who grew up on samurais and Nintendo. We found out that ramen isn't the only thing that fascinates us about Japan and its culture. We realized we've had something in common since our childhood, being amazed by both Japanese tradition and POP culture. Today, our children inspire us with their pixelated worlds. That's why RAMENCRAFT was created.

But how can an experienced Czech gastronome run an authentic Japanese venture? A place where ramen tastes and looks just like it does in Japan, where chefs cook ramen consistently well each time? A place where, upon opening the doors, you find yourself in the land of the rising sun with an immediate craving for ramen?

It didn't take long for us in the RAMENCRAFT team to welcome Mr. Shogo, an experienced ramen master who has been living in the Czech Republic for some time. He speaks Japanese and English well, and a little Czech. With many years of experience, he has a refined taste for ramen and can identify faults just by the smell.

What followed was an endless number of tastings, with Milan and our team of chefs cooking under Mr. Shogo's supervision to perfection.

Watching Czech chef Jirka, who knows only basic English, communicate with the Japanese master was often hilarious. But after the 33rd tasting, when it still wasn't right, Mr. Shogo said he was quitting. He couldn't associate his name with our project.

„WE NEED A JAPANESE!“ WAS THE CONSENSUS AT ONE OF THE MEETINGS.

„OUR RAMEN IS TRULY AUTHENTIC.“

A low blow? No, rather a motivation for further work! "Master Shogo, give it another chance,
we can do it!" We promised and went back to cooking. Ramen, ramen, ramen, and more ramen.

In December 2023, we got the green light from Mr. Shogo. Our ramen is truly authentic and we can introduce it to the public.

The entire process of preparation, designing, construction modifications, and testing took two years, and we can open RAMENCRAFT in January 2024.

Come and see us.
